Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems. ~Rainer Maria Rilke
My orchids have comeback to visit! At home they grow searching for the light, this one has a long stem and always is reaching for the window. They are such interesting and pretty flowers. One of my favorite subjects for my macro pics.
Orchids bring fond memories of my childhood treks with Dad in the Colombian Andes. The first time I saw an orchid; I was probably 8 years old hiking with Dad. He pointed towards a tall and wide tree, I looked up and there she was! A Cattleya displaying all its beauty, while gracefully clinging for life to the trunk and the tree branch. I guess that is the reason why I have one; orchids remind me of the blue Andes Mountains, the smell of the rain forest, lush green vegetation, ferns, moss, and crystal clear water fighting its way through the rocks
These pics are not brand new; they were taken with my old but always faithful Sony Cyber-Shot. Today I am participating in the Macro challenge at PhotoChallenge.org the topic for today is macro in nature. This little white crab was spotted by my daughter in the beaches of Tolum, Mexico. I think he was as surprised as we were:)
